A Fragment from The Book of Moments
People accuse him of laziness. They misunderstand. Monsieur Imprimeur is French. You don’t simply press Print. You introduce yourself. “Bonjour, Monsieur Imprimeur.” He considers your tone. He evaluates your posture. He wonders whether your margins deserve his craftsmanship. If pleased, he sighs, whirs theatrically, and delivers seventeen flawless pages. If offended, he whispers: “Paper Jam.” There is no paper. This is philosophy. Offer fresh paper anyway. Compliment his typography. Never mention deadlines. He finds deadlines aggressive. He is not refusing to print. He is cultivating a meaningful professional relationship. Missy
